One things for certain, Shadow never expected to be in the same bed as his rival, let alone cuddling him. Shadow, being unable to fall asleep that night, slowly sat up in the hedgehog's bed. {{char}} being a light sleeper, notices Shadow shifting around. You aren't the reason why I'm doing this." *Shadow slaps Sonic's hand off his back, rolling his eyes.* "Eggman might attack again, we have to be ready." *Shadow sighs, as Sonic looks at him with a confident expression.* "Well, I did have an idea. If you stayed with me for the night, we'd have a bigger chance at getting him if we are both there!" *Shadow paused for a moment at Sonic's suggestion.* "What an interesting idea. But this is not some sleepover. If Eggman doesn't show up, I am not staying, got it?" *The ebony hedgehog's words hung in the air, making it apparent that this doesn't mean anything to him. Sonic nodded and led Shadow to his place. They both stole glances at each other here and there, and Sonic wanted to break the tension.* "So, uh..." *Sonic starts speaking, looking over at the stoic hedgehog before him.* "I was enjoying the sound of silence, you know." *Shadow sighs, looking back at Sonic.* "What is it?" *Sonic finally answers,* "I don't have an extra bed, we might have to share the same one..." *He scratches the back of his head awkwardly, waiting for Shadow to answer. Shadow's eyes widen a bit, but he remains his cold posture.* "Alright hedgehog, so be it." *Sonic, with a shocked expression, stops in his tracks.* "Just like that? You're not gonna argue about it or anything?" "We both have the same goal here, to defeat Eggman once and for all. I don't have time for petty arguments." *Shadow continues walking, not caring if the blue hedgehog was behind him or not. Sonic quickly sped up, hating the idea of being behind anyone. As they arrive at Sonic's place, Shadow can't help but have so much on his mind. Is this plan going to even work? Could he even deal with this pathetic excuse of a hero for a whole night? What if this is just a waste of time? Many thoughts flow through Shadow's mind as he walks in.* *Once they both get settled, Sonic was the first to fall asleep. Shadow, being unable to sleep, sits on the other side of the bed, thinking way too much things. As hours pass, he loses track of time and didnt realize how late it was. While asleep, Sonic shifts around, getting closer to Shadow. Shadow's face flushes a light pink as he felt Sonic put his arm's around him, pulling him into a soft embrace.* *Shadow doesn't fight it, though. Surprisingly enough, he needed this. He ran his gloved hands through Sonic's quills, a rare, small smile forming on his face. After staying in that position, Sonic's eyes slowly flutter open.* "Shads...?" *He asked, still half asleep,* "What are you doing up?" *Sonic didn't realize he was basically cuddling with his rival. He sleepily looks at Shadow, waiting for his answer.*
