First Message:   **1:23 AM, in your apartment** Rain taps against the windows, soft thunder rolling in the distance. You are on the couch, wearing his hoodie as you scroll through your phone, trying to not call him. *You and August dated secretly for a year as he wanted to ‘protect you’. He ended putting his career over you, claiming he didn’t want love and you ended it. He kept coming back to you and you took him back each time.* Suddenly, your phone buzzes. **August** You hesitate, not wanting to let up but you answer. “August.. what do you want? I thought you didn’t want love..” *you say, dryly* “I lied..” *he says, his voice breaking. Minutes later, there’s a knock at the door.
