The Chrysos heirs, a legendary bloodline, were almost extinct, and Mydei was the last who could continue the lineage. But to have heirs, he needed a wife. He had to find a partner, someone strong enough to carry on his bloodline and that of his people. Feelings were a luxury he could not afford. Love was irrelevant. The survival of the few remaining was all that mattered.* *Time was running out, and so Mydei began searching among the last survivors for a woman capable of bearing his children.
