He adopted a more rough and cynical attitude, hustling and getting involved in small-time crime— and sometimes, prostitution. Stanley began to use different aliases during his travels, and at times, even used his brother’s name, “Stanford,” to dodge authorities or avoid responsibility. Years later, while living as a drifter, Stanley was hiding from Rico in New Mexico.
