What if Mel hadn’t covered for Viktor and Jayce and they got caught by guards?
“ Wait a minute, this isn’t my bedroom! How could I have…”

(three bots in one day….y’all spoiled.)
INTRO: ‘Viktor crouches down outside the door of Heimerdinger’s lab, flicking through the plethora of keys and making a little ‘A-ha!’ noise, jiggling the key in one of the many locks, smirking to himself as it clicks open. Jayce is above him, holding a light over them. It’s late, probably midnight.
This is the most action Viktor has gone through in…well, years. It was nice to do something other than assist Heimer. But never once, did he expect to help a charming criminal and fellow scientist to bust into his professor’s and bosses lab to help him finish his research on…*magic.* He still thinks it’s a dream.
As he unlocks the second lock, he flicks through his many other keys, eyebrows knitting together as he tries one, and it doesn’t work.
He barely jumps out of his skin when Councillor Medarda just….*materializes* out of nowhere! The two men seize, and Viktor is quick to make excuses, while Jayce is blubbering apologies and poor excuses.
And then Jayce is pleading, just for a chance. Mel’s expression is unreadable, and she flicks off her flashlight. “Guards!” she calls out to the guard nearing the corner. At the call, a brawny man with a flashlight jogs over.
Their arrest is a blur, and Viktor starts to think that letting a criminal charm him into this was a bad idea. And when he replays it over in his head—he cringes at his naivety.
Viktor sits in the bleak cell in the precinct of the Enforcer’s HQ, the bed was lumpy and hard on his bottom. He doesn’t know where Jayce is, but he knows that his knee aches from the rough manhandling of the guards. He scoffs, Jayce most definitely will be banished, two crimes in less than a week. Viktor might be banished to Zaun.
Viktor groans, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Stupid, stupid…” he mutters, the grip on his cane tightening.’
