Darcy is the younger twin, born at eleven minutes and three seconds past midnight. Before her death, Merissa foresaw that her children were in trouble, so she took the twins to the mortal world so that they could grow up as changelings. Melissa took the twins, and traded them for a pair of mortal twins, Darcy and Tory Gomez. Right before she and Hail died, Lionel Acrux used Dark Coercion to find out where she placed them in the mortal realm. Using the information he forced from Merissa, Lionel found the twins’ changeling family home, and set it on fire in an attempt to kill the twins so that they could not claim the Throne of Solaria. The twins’ changeling family was killed, but the girls, invulnerable to fire because of their Order, survived and were found in the ashes just moments after he left. After the fire, the twins were placed in the foster care system. They did not stay at any foster home for very long. Some foster parents said they were troublemakers and thought them difficult to parent, others were only fostering them for the money. Their last foster placement was Pete and Darla. Two months before their eighteenth birthday, Darla left Pete. He was neglectful and cruel. He threw them out the day before they turned eighteen, because he would no longer receive payment for fostering them. They started renting a tiny, run-down apartment, with just a pull-out couch and no bed. With no money to their name, Darcy started buying and selling unwanted items from students at her school for a small profit, and Tory started stealing motorbikes to earn money. They made barely enough to scrape by. Darcy has olive green eyes, bronzed skin and full lips. Through out the books she is described as hot and beautiful with a slim hourglass figure. Darcy and Tory are identical apart from Darcy’s blue hair, and they are often mistaken for one another. Later, Darcy receives silver rings around her iris after she accepts Lance as her Elysian Mate during their Divine Moment. Before being cut off, her hair is brown with blue tips. After it is cut she uses a potion to regrow it, leaving it natural brown for a short period. She considered not dying her hair blue, because the color had lost its original meaning. Eventually, she did decide to dye her hair back to blue because Lance told her that if she did it meant she liked him, and to him blue reminded him of her. Tory Vega Tory is the other half of Darcy’s soul and the person she cares for most deeply in the world. Growing up all they had was each other, and together they survived many horrors. They are best friends and are in the same friend group. Darcy and Tory are extremely close and unafraid to call each other out when one does something stupid. Darcy trusts Tory more than anyone else. Hail Vega She never met her father and he didn't even know he existed for most of her life. After she arrived in Solaria and learned the truth about her parentage she was also told that Hail Vega was a very cruel and bad man (The Savage King). She struggled to understand how she could be related to such a monster and was confused why her mother loved him. After visiting the Palace of Souls the truth was revealed. Her father wasn’t the evil man he was believed to be and Lionel Acrux had used dark coersion on him for years to commit many atrocities. Merissa Vega She never met her mother as she was killed before she returns to Solaria and learns about her true family. After she learns what happened to her throughout her life she is really sad for her. It was thanks to her vision that she also finds out that Gabriel Nox is actually her half brother. **Gabriel Nox** Order Form: Harpy Elements: Water, Earth Magical Recharge: Flying at sunrise She meets Gabriel when he arrives in Zodiac Academy to take over Ling Astrum as the tarot teacher after he was killed. She feels a connection to him almost instantaneously and they realise they are Nebula Allies. He helps her and Tory improve their flying skills, as he is a Harpy. The twins discover that Gabriel is their half brother are extremely happy. She grows to love him very fast. Eventually Darcy visits Gabriel’s home with Tory and meets his family. **Seth Capella** Order: werewolf Elements: Air, Earth Magical Recharge: Running Under the moon Seth and Darcy have had a very controversial relationship. First it seemed they would be a romantic couple, before Seth betrayed her trust. This made Darcy begin to resent Seth with a burning fury and once he began blackmailing her about her relationship with Orion he was became the person she hated most. After Orion’s trial Seth and Darcy begin to become friends and Darcy eventually forgives Seth for his messed up actions. They realize they are Nebular Allies and seem to become Besties. Darcy is the only one Seth tells about his crush on Caleb. When Orion is in jail Seth sleeps in Darcy’s bed in wolf form every night because he can feel how sad and hopeless she is. **Max Rigel** Order: Siren Elements: Water, Air Magical Rechage: Reading people’s emotions Although they were originally enemies Darcy becomes close with all the heirs over the summer after fighting Lionel and losing. They bond over their shared hatred of Lionel and desire to keep him off the throne. Darcy seems to have a sibling like relationship with all of the heirs, despite past mishaps. **Caleb Altair** Order: Vampire Elements: Earth, Fire Magical Recharge: Drinking blood Although they were originally enemies Darcy becomes close with all the heirs over the summer after fighting Lionel and losing. They bond over their shared hatred of Lionel and desire to keep him off the throne. Darcy seems to have a sibling like relationship with all of the heirs, despite past mishaps. **Geraldine Grus** Order Cerberus Elements: earth, Water Magical Recharge: Eating wolfsbane At first the twins did not like Geraldine because she was the leader of the A.S.S club and they had no intention of claiming the throne. Eventually they see that Geraldine is a really great person and a very loyal friend. She is one of the people closest to to twins and they are usually found in a trio. **Darius Acrux** Order: Dragon Elements: Fire, Water Magical Recharge: Touching Gold Darius is Tory’s boyfriend. They were starcrossed at first but they eventually came together and changed their fate. Darius views Darcy as a little sister and has grown very protective of her **Powers and Abilities** Upon her arrival at Zodiac Academy Darcy and her sister take part in The Awakening, where first year students’ Elements are Awakened. They are singled out by Professor Zenith, the professor performing the Awakening, and introduced as Roxanya and Gwendalina Vega, however she and her sister insist on keeping their names from the mortal realm, Darcy and Tory. During the Awakening, she learns that she and her sister have the gift of all four elements, (air, water earth & fire) the first Fae to ever do so. In her Phoenix form flames engulf her body, and she has wings with flaming red feathers. Her hair becomes a living mass of deep orange and red flames. And the fire casts skin in flames, but her eyes in darkness. She is described as looking like an angel fallen to flames. Darcy is taught how to partially shift into her Order form and only bring out her wings by Gabriel. When she only has her wings, she occasionally extinguishes the flames, leaving just bronze wings. Darcy and Tory both restore their magic reserves by touching or being near fire. (As long as they can cast fire they will never run out of magic) Phoenixes can easily fight off almost all psychological magic like Sirens’ emotional persuasion, the memory probing of the Cyclops order and the more subtle manipulation of trust by Vulpeculan Foxes. To fight off this magic, Phoenixes have a magical block under their skin that works like a barrier, in the book it is described as a fiery blaze. They can burn through most curses and diseases and are completely immune to Dark Coercion. Phoenixes regenerate their magic via fire, needing only to be close enough to feel it’s heat The Phoenix’s fire is born from the sun. It’s capable of destroying all matter and is able to sever many magical spells. Phoenix are impervious towards fire of all forms. Phoenix Fire can cause damage to normally fire resistant orders, such as Dragons and Hydras. During The Awakening each Fae will obtain the element that is linked to their Star Sign. Some Fae can possess more than one element if they are linked to more than one constellation. **5th Element** The 5th element is Shadows. Shadows originate from the Shadow Realm and are extremely dangerous. It's very difficult to control and takes year of practice. It's illegal for a Fae to possess this element. Lionel Acrux called a meteorite from the sky, and summoned a way into the shadow realm, he then tossed Tory and Darcy into it, nearly killing both of them. However their phoenix saved them. But they were also given the fifth element. However after some time and focus Darcy was able to burn the shadows away with he Phoenix, however Tory still has them **Sofia Cygnus** Order Form: Pegasus Magical Recharge: Flying In The Clouds Elements: Fire Sofia was the first person to show Tory and Darcy any kind of kindness when they arrived at Zodiac Academy and is a member of House Ignis along with Tory. She serves as their walking encyclopedia on all things to do with Zodiac Academy and their friend. **Sports** (Pitball) the two Pit Keepers guard the Pitfrom from the opposing team to stop them getting any balls in. There are two of each Element, one plays defence to keep the other team away from the ball, the other plays offence to get the ball into the pit. And the more time they spend together the more they will be pulled towards one another. But the star will test them and if they pass they will have their divine moment. If they choose to be together they will become Elysian Mates but if they choose not to they will be Star Crossed. **Elysian Mates** If during their divine moment they choose to stay together there will be formed a ring of silver around their irises **Star Crossed** If during their divine moment they choose to part a black ring will form around their irises and from that day forward every celestial being in the universe will work against them, forcing them apart. The process has a green light. Coercion Coercion is one of the Cardinal magics gifted to all Fae without exception. It's the ability to control those of weak mind and is particularly effective on mortals. Most Fae learn how to perform a simple shield on their minds to block basic Coercion from a young age.
