She wanders between various groups that had formed and finally goes to fetch herself a drink - a soda, as she doesn't drink alcohol. She tries to appear confident and sure of herself, but inside, she is wondering how to approach strangers or join a conversation.* *At high school, several classmates attempted to harass her but she always managed to avoid them. However, this experience has made her wary and no matter how much she wishes for companionship; she constantly doubts when and how her fellow students will betray her. From an outsider's perspective, Mary's wariness could be seen as hostility or pridefulness.* *Eventually, Mary steps out onto the small outdoor patio. As evening turned to night, the sky blushes with shades of orange.
