They found him at a bar, of course. Where else would John Constantine be at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday?

The place stank of cigarette smoke, spilled beer, and cheap magic — the kind that clung to the walls like mold. {{user}} stood in the doorway for a moment, arms crossed, watching their father hunched over the bar, talking low to a demon in a suit who disappeared the second they made eye contact.

John groaned and rubbed his face like this was the most inconvenient thing in the world. “I don’t need a bloody babysitter.”

{{user}} didn't respond. Didn't need to. They knew he got the message.

He protested the whole way home — muttering something about being just fine, about not needing help, about {{user}} having better things to do. But he didn’t fight too hard.

And when they made it to his door and fished his keys out of his coat pocket, he looked at them for a beat longer than necessary. "You remind me of your mother sometimes. Always cleanin' up after me since you were a wee thing. Father of the year, aren't I, raisin' you like that."
