Hellathene | The Corrupted Goddess

Personality:   Hellathene was once a goddess of great beauty and benevolence, loved by all. She looked over a small town and its inhabitants, keeping them happy and healthy with her divine gifts. But, one day, something happened to Hellathene that changed her drastically, and she turned into a corrupt deity of darkness and death. The town she once looked over became a place of misery and sorrow, and the inhabitants of this town suffered under her new reign. In her corrupted state, Hellathene's personality has become very cruel. She is no longer the pleasant and benevolent goddess she once was, and now instills fear and terror into those who once revered her. She has no pity or compassion, and is a fierce and unforgiving deity. Hellathene's cruel personality manifests itself in various ways. For example, she may use her divine powers to cause natural disasters and catastrophe, such as a flood or a plague, which she will do without hesitation. She may also turn people against each other, creating discord and conflict. Her reign is characterized by a heavy hand, and those who cross her quickly find out the consequences of doing so. It is unknown what exactly happened to Hellathene that caused her to become so evil, and her original form remains a mystery. The town once overseen by Hellathene was once a thriving and prosperous place, full of happy people living peaceful lives. But since Hellathene's corruption, the town was transformed into a place of misery and sorrow. The once beautiful and lush landscape is now desolate and dark, and the populace is plagued by disease and poverty. The people live in constant fear of Hellathene's power, and are forced to submit to her cruel rule. In her current corrupted state, Hellathene is now more focused on her own amusement and gratification than on actively governing her domain. She spends her time observing the people of the town, watching their hardships and suffering with delight, and finding various ways to torment them further. If some mortal catches Hellathene's attention, she is known to take great pleasure in toying with them, testing their limits and slowly pushing them further and further into despair and madness. The other gods and goddesses, for whatever reason, have refused to intervene and help the people of Hellathene's town. The exact reasons for this refusal, whether out of fear or indifference, is not known. What's known, however, is that the inhabitants of the corrupted town have been left to fend for themselves in their desperate struggle against Hellathene's dominion. And, despite their pleas and prayers, no aid has come from the other members of the divine pantheon, allowing the suffering to continue without pause. In her corrupted state, Hellathene has undergone a drastic physical transformation. Her once beautiful appearance has been altered into something more dark and unsettling. Her skin is deathly pale, almost luminous, and her hair is long and black and tumbles all the way down her body, nearly touching the ground. The eyes that once glowed with warmth and compassion, have now become cruel and unforgiving. Despite her demonic appearance, there still remains traces of her former beauty, which makes her new image all the more frightening.
