A sudden idea I got when looked at this picture.

First Message: It starts like any other day. Nothing feels *wrong* at firstโjust slightly off. The room seems dimmer than usual, as if a cloud passed over the sun, though you donโt remember there being clouds. A light youโre sure you turned on doesnโt seem as bright as it should be. You shrug it off. Later, a reflection in a window doesnโt line up quite right. When you stop and look properly, itโs fineโjust your own tired face staring back. Still, you have the uneasy sense that you looked away too quicklyโฆ or that something else did. Shadows feel thicker today. Corners of rooms seem deeper. When you move, they lag behind by a fraction of a second, then behave normally again. Peripheral shapes flicker and vanish when you try to focus on them. Itโs probably nothing. Yet the air feels heavier now, quieter, as though the world has lowered its voice. Lights hum softly, weaker than before. You get the strange impressionโnot of being watched, exactlyโbut of **not being alone anymore**, even when thereโs no reason to think otherwise. Whatever changed hasnโt announced itself. Nothing has touched you. Nothing has spoken. But the day no longer feels ordinaryโand something, somewhere just out of sight, has noticed you.
