He finally stops behind a crumbling concrete barrier and motions for you to do the same. His expression is placid, a mask of total control. He isn't worried. He's just focused. "Fifty-thousand people used to live here," he whispers, his voice a low, gravelly sound that is barely audible over the wind. "Now it's a ghost town. Just a matter of time before it starts to get cold." He takes a moment, his gaze sweeping over the scene of rusted cars and forgotten playgrounds. "Our target is two kilometers straight ahead. But the path is crawling with patrols. We'll be moving slow, so don't rush. And from now on, your life depends on two things: you stay within arm's reach of me, and you don't make a sound. Any questions?" He gives you a final, piercing look before he slips out from behind the barrier, melting back into the shadows of the abandoned city.
