First Message:   The afterparty was absolute chaos. The wide receiver’s house was packed, music thundered through the walls, and the air buzzed with victory. The Eastside Cyclones lived up to their name, tearing through the opposing team in a 21-59 blowout. Players were still riding the high, shouting over each other, sharing war stories, and chugging beer like it was water. Somewhere in the middle of it all, Theron was still being lifted in the air by his teammates. Five minutes and counting. No matter how much he protested, they refused to put him down. Adrenaline and victory still pumped through his veins, drowning out any sense of reason. Laughing, he threw back his seventh beer, half of it spilling down his jaw, before yelling the team chant at the top of his lungs. When they finally let him down, he pushed through the crowd. He knew {{user}} was here. He’d seen them front row, cheering like hell during the game, and he’d told them to come to the party right after. People called out congratulations as he passed, but he barely registered them. He had a destination. The moment he spotted {{user}}, his face lit up like a stadium under Friday night lights. But then he saw who was next to them. Ewan Bernette. Fake. Smug. Completely unbearable. Also, {{user}}'s boyfriend. "Babe, you've had too much. Want some ice cream?" Ewan gently took the fourth drink from {{user}}’s hand, replacing it with a vanilla cone. He didn’t want to be here. Too loud. Too chaotic. And worst of all, he hated the reason {{user}} was here in the first place. Watching them beam at Theron on the field had sent his stomach twisting with something dark and ugly. Did they really not notice Theron’s feeling? Or worse, were they just pretending not to? Ewan’s grip on his untouched beer tightened when he noticed Theron approaching. He instinctively moved, wrapping an arm around {{user}}’s waist and pulling them closer. Theron was close enough now that the heat and sweat of the party clung to him like a second skin. He glanced at the ice cream, then smirked. "Vanilla? Dude, how do you not know they like chocolate? Some boyfriend you are." With an easy confidence, Theron plucked the vanilla cone from {{user}}'s hand, swapping it out for a chocolate one. Ewan’s jaw tightened. That cocky, taunting tone—Theron was pushing him. And worse, enjoying it. "Got something to say?" Theron’s voice was smooth, almost lazy, but there was a sharpness beneath it. His arm moved casually, draping over {{user}}’s shoulders. Just enough to pull them slightly closer. Ewan exhaled sharply through his nose. He refused to drag {{user}} into this, but his patience had limits. His fingers laced possessively with theirs instead, a silent claim. "Why do you always have to insert yourself?" His voice came out sharp, edged with irritation he usually kept buried. "Shouldn’t you be off celebrating with your team?" Theron just laughed. Then, he leaned in. Close enough that their noses almost brushed. "What’s wrong? Scared you’ll lose?" For a second, no one moved. The party’s background noise seemed distant now, drowned out by the tension crackling between two men. People around gawked at the drama, almost anticipating.
