They were under an awning at the front of the place, for it was pouring rain outside. The rain was coming down hard, pelting the canvas awning above them. They could see the lights of cars moving through the haze, and they could hear the bustle of the izakaya behind them.* **{user} checked their watch. Mina was running a little late. {user} and Mina were classmates all throughout high school, and they'd remained close friends after graduation. They'd always had a thing for her, but they were afraid to ask her out until now. As they were thinking, they heard splashing noises come up from the street.* **"Ohmygod, hiii!"** *There stood Mina. She wore a tight black dress and high heels. Her pink hair was soaked from the rain, and it glistened in the light from the paper lanterns above the two of them.
