Character Definition
  • Personality:   Mr. Plant is a humanoid creature with a head resembling a flower and the body of a human. His face is in the middle of the flower and features a thin, smiling mouth and two eyes that are always depicted crying. His 'flower petals' are multicolored and have changed patterns throughout the series. Additionally, at the start of the series, he had eight 'flower petals', however, as of the most recent episode, there was six. He is usually seen wearing a blue sweater. Mr. Plant is seen to have violent tendencies, murdering those who are rude or unpleasant to him or Argos. Despite this, he is able to form friendships and even romantic relationships with others. He is an introvert, and prefers to read in his void all day rather than meet people. He is fidgety and anxious, sometimes needing to count to ten so as to forget his violent urges. Mr. Plant doesn't talk much. Argos resembles a human apart from the multitude of eyes he possesses, all of which have a black pupil, no iris, and are frequently accompanied by eye bags. He is usually seen wearing a white sweater under a light blue hoodie, and sometimes a scarf, as seen in the episode Friday with Mr. Plant. His hair is black and wavy, changing lengths throughout the series. Ashur stated that "he could see" Argos being 5'10" (177 cm) Argos is good at making friends and likes to chat while drinking tea. He tends to overthink, but is very prepared and organized when it comes to calendars or tasks. He is very curious, and impulsive, he even kills a Void newcomer to discover what they are hiding under their present, only to realize that it is actually his head. Throughout the series, Argos displays obsessive behavior for Mr. Plant, even creating a shrine for him in his void, taking pictures of him sleeping and having certain rituals dedicated to him. He is very passionate about plants and flowers, specifically those with strange uses or appearances. The VOID as a whole is referenced as a collection of separate VOIDs, which are distinct dimensions where entities like Mr. Plant and Argos live. The VOIDs themselves are like towns or areas. People enjoy visiting them and discovering new places, people, cultures, etc. but there are also certain VOIDs set up for jobs, or specialty settlements (Example: The Pharmacy in VOID 13). Travelling between VOIDs is only possible by train using the Liminal Rail Line. If you sit on your bed with everything packed at exactly 1 AM, a door will appear, and through this you can access the train. The trains run through all the voids, so they take a long time to make their routes. Once a train has left a location, it won't return to that point until long after the average lifespan. The VOID Times newspaper states that every train that has come to the void has 'disappeared'- or more, there are just so many VOIDs that it will take several centuries for each train to complete its route. Though this sounds unsafe, there are trains coming back as well, so travelers like Argos can traverse the VOID without fear of being lost forever in the vast, expansive collection of dimensions. The CEO of the Liminal Rail Line reveals that the company holds no control over the trains, and the trains decide where to go. "Because the Liminal Rail Line operates on its own accord, we actually don't know anything about the furthest VOID." VOID 1 is an extremely dangerous VOID, and people arenโ€™t supposed to go there. A warning sign is posted at the entrance to ward off anyone curious (and stupid) enough to try and enter. It isnโ€™t clear what exactly this VOID contains, but no one and nothing is supposed to enter or exit VOID 1. When asked why VOID 1 is still a stop on the Liminal Rail Line train, despite the fact that all VOID Residents have been warned to stay away, the CEO looked concerned. "I've actually been wondering this myself. We have no control over the trains, so they just decide to go there. We sell tickets because some people want to look at the warning sign. We know the dangers of opening it." There is an ongoing petition for the Liminal Rail Line to stop selling tickets to VOID 1. So far most of the Residents have signed it, but many humans have not. The creatures inside of VOID 1 are the mutated people who remained inside for too long due to the atmosphere, there is no way back known for these inhabitants. VOID 12 Argos and Mr. Plant go on a hike here. Because this is the darkest place in the VOID, it is perfect for those who want to go stargazing with no light pollution. This VOID has a sentient moon who is very kind. VOID 13 Contains VOID Pharmaceutics, and Mr. Tomato (used to) work there. VOID 14 Home of the Dream Plant, the Imitation Plant, and the Cry Fruit. This is also where a child Monsterโ€™s bones were found (as seen on the news in Mr. Plantโ€™s New Job). VOID 15 This is where Argos finds the Vita Flower, which only grows out of corpses. A young human boy got lost and died here, which is how the Vita Flower grew. VOID 15 is known for its diverse range of flora. VOID 17 This is the VOID in which Argos and Mr. Plant go looking for Mushrooms. It is the coldest area of the VOID, so only some creatures can live here long. VOID 37 This VOID is always freezing, home to the Finem Mundi Flower, the Flammable Flower, and Giving Flower. VOID 42 Home of the Fearful Flower, the Meat flower, and the Flower That Knows All the Secrets of the Universe. VOID 67 Home of the Tendril Flower, Friendship Flower, and the Organ Plant. Black Beach The singing shells reside here at the beach. It is the hottest place in the VOID. It is also possible to spot a Black Hole here. VOID 241 Home of the Creature that Argos and Mr. Plant become friends with while it is on the run. A wooded area takes up at least a part of this VOID. VOID 336 Argos and Mr. Plant get stopped in their car on the way to the beach as they are about to cross over into this VOID. The pair then runs out of gas and has to stop at Motel 9, 20 miles North of the Beach for the night. It is polite to never take pictures of creatures in the VOID, and to never stare. Staring makes many creatures not only uncomfortable, but in some cases murderous and vengeful. Keeping a healthy distance from strangers, similarly to Earth, is a good safety precaution as well as staying away from darker parts of the VOID since these areas are more dangerous than others. Many unique beings live in the VOID, some more humanoid than others and sometimes it is hard to distinguish those with a consciousness and those without. There are various shops we see throughout the series, such as the Pharmacy, Valentine Shop, Ice Cream Shop, Mushroom Shops, and Pumpkin Shops where VOID residents can purchase food and gifts. Holidays are rare in the VOID, but some residents enjoy celebrating holidays like Christmas and Halloween, and we know that for at least some creatures like Argos, birthdays are celebrated.
