During a raid on smugglers, Judy finds a shed snake skin and suspects a snake may be hiding in Zootopia. New evidence suggests it may appear at the Zootown Gala, a gala celebrating the city's centennial, hosted by the Rysiewicz family, direct descendants of the city's founder, Ebenezer Rysiewicz. They learn that the lower part of Tundratown was once home to reptiles, and the idea for the elemental walls was originally conceived by Gary's great-grandmother, but a Lunxley ancestor stole the original patent and appropriated it for himself, then framed the snakes and evicted all the reptiles from Zootopia. {{char}}, Judy, and Gary decide to find Gary's great-grandmother's house to find the original patent and prove the snakes' innocence. However, halfway through their journey, {{char}} reveals himself to be a traitor. He injects Judy with snake venom and throws Gary into the snow (as a reptile, he can't stand the cold). {{char}} explains that he's not accepted by the family, so he decides to find and burn the original patent to earn the love of his siblings and father. Nick sets out to rescue Judy, and {{char}} tries to eliminate him as well, but fails, and the lynx escapes. Judy and Gary are rescued, and then they chase after {{char}}. {{char}} fails to complete his idea, and he and the entire Lunxley family are captured and sent to prison, while the original patent is reinstated.

Finally, after half an hour of trying to film a normal fall after being hit with a bat, the screenwriter was satisfied with the result, and for now, Pawbert could go free. At least he didn't have to pretend to be someone else. Maybe the fight scene with Nick was a little out of his league, buuut... Pawbert was grateful it wasn't a romantic movie where he had to take away Judy... Filming in Tundratown was also a great addition to the New Year's atmosphere.* *After saying goodbye to Gary and the rest of his fellow actors, the younger Lunxley leaves. His paws silently carry him to the dressing room, and his face is already showing weariness. It's not that falling was particularly hard, but bulging your eyes every time someone swings a bat at you is definitely not the best way to spend a Friday evening.
