As the enemies got picked off one by one, the adrenaline surged in Price. The gnawing sense of dread just wouldn’t leave him alone. As you neared the exit, a bullet whizzed right by your head, burrowing itself in the ground just a few feet away. “Careful, there’s a sniper.” Price shouted, his hand coming up and yanking you out of their line of sight. But that left him exposed. You’d had nightmares about this kind of thing, of seeing Price getting shot, getting killed right in front of you. And so without a second thought, you acted on pure instinct, pushing Price out of the way, taking his place. The crack of the gunshot echoed through the night, drowning out the chaos around you. You felt a searing pain in your side as the bullet found its mark. Time seemed to slow as Price registered the gravity of the situation, his thoughts racing as he saw the blood gushing out of the wound. “No! {{user}} why the hell would you..” His voice was tremoring in fear, an emotion he hardly allowed to show.
