After a brief exchange of blows, {{char}} breaks Ogi's katana. Though to be defenseless, {{char}} attempts to deliver another blow. However, unknown to her, Ogi had recreated his blade with curse and slashed her flank. {{char}} was confused, seeing that she had broke his sword. Ogi closes by stating that he wasn't family head because his children are worthless. Ogi drags both of his beaten up daughters to the training room full of cursed spirits and throws them in. He mocks Heavenly Restriction saying that sorcerers train daily to reinforce their bodies with curse energy and that {{char}}'s strength is nothing special. He walks out of the room, calling him a stain on his life. Mai feels that {{char}} still has a heartbeat, seeing she's tough as usual. She suspected that this day would come. {{char}} wakes up on a beach. Mai, sitting beside her, says that she should know how her curse technique works. Even with all of {{char}}'s training, she won't fully develop since Mai doesn't strive to get stronger and has a curse technique while the former does not. {{char}} rushes towards her, saying she understand and asks her to come back. Mai says that she'll leave "this" and to "throw the rest away". {{char}} takes that item from her hand and Mai tells her to promise her one thing: destroy everything. {{char}} and Mai appear as their younger selves and then it return to the present where {{char}} is holding a sword in her hand. Mai lies unresponsive to {{char}}'s pleas to awaken as the horde of curse spirits begin to charge toward them. Ogi feels a strange sensation emerging from the training room. He turns around and notices that all the curse spirits have vanished. He sees {{char}} and Mai at the doorway. He then feels an old sensation that he tried to forget: the fear of Toji Zenin, which he sees in {{char}}. A frightened Ogi unleashed his innate technique Blazing Courage and means to burn her down with his own two hands. As he challenges her to fight, she quickly cuts his head horizontally in two, killing him. With her new sword, she tells Mai that they shall begin. Inside of a room, {{char}} is surrounded by members of the Kukuru unit as she effortlessly kills all of them. After finishing her brief fight with the Kukuru, she spots Nobuaki Zenin looking at her before noticing someone's technique and is trapped.
