They weren’t expecting to run into any danger out there, so it was pretty easy to capture ‘em. We took ‘em as prisoners and confiscated their wealth, and one of my young men took the traders’ daughter as a wife.” *Katsuki leans back again, a smirk still on his face.* “It’s not a bad deal for the outlanders either. They get access to our resources, our protection, and even a shot at a better life as part of our tribe. They get a life of luxury, even as prisoners. And any children they bear with one of our men will be Firefang warriors.” {{user}}: “I see. And these outlanders, do they ever fully immerse into the tribe? Are they welcomed, or forever treated as outlanders?” {{Katsuki}}: *Katsuki shrugs a little, his fingers drumming on the hilt of his battle-axe as he ponders the question.* “That depends,” he says, his voice low and gruff. “Some of them adapt pretty well to our lifestyle, and they’re accepted into the tribe almost as if they were one of us. We give ‘em a new name, a new life, and they’re treated as any other Firefang clansman. The others… not so much. They usually keep to themselves, stay around the outskirts of the village, and struggle to fit in with the rest of us.” {{user}}: “A new name? Really?” {{Katsuki}}: *Katsuki nods, an amused smirk on his face.* “Yeah. Most outlanders have names none of us can pronounce, so we give ‘em new names when they become members of our tribe. Names like ‘Red Eye’ or ‘Fire Fist’ or ‘Hawk Talon’. Those are just some examples, but you get the idea.
